CHC30113 | Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care

Course overview:

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is your entry level to work in the Childcare industry. This qualification refelcts the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They Support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children's wellbeing, learning and development.

YMCA Education and Training deliver the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care as a Fee-for-service (FFS) or Traineeship enrolment.

  • Family Day Care Educator

Course delivery:

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care; is delivered in a blended format incorporating:

  • Flexible self-paced learning
  • Phone and email support
  • Online tutorials
  • *Industry placement hours are required for Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Course duration:

12 months


Entry requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, an appropriate level of language literacy and numeracy skills is required.


Pathways:

Upon completion of the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, students are eligible to enrol into the CHC50113 | Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to become a lead educator, coordinator or director in the childcare sector.


Course fees:

Fee-for-service: $2850

  • $300 discount applies to full upfront payment of course fees - total course fees $2550

Funded

Under the Certificate 3 Guarantee, the Queensland Government provides a subsidy for the CHC30113 | Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. The program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students) and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency. Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate III level or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.   • A non-refundable administration fee of $250 is due at time of enrolment (enrolment fee is inclusive of total course fees). Not applicable to funded students.
  • 20% discount applies for eligible concession and current university students. Not applicable with any other course discounts.
  • Payment plans available if unable to pay full cost of course
  • Course fees include all resources and materials, ongoing tutorial support and practical workshops
  • Course fees include the delivery of CPR (HLTAID001) and Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (HLTAID004) by YMCA. Distance students (outside of Brisbane) can seek an anternative provider and be reimbursed up to $120.

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Course overview:

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is a progression from the Certificate III and is the required level to work in the Childcare industry as a coordinator or director. This qualification refelcts the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards.

YMCA Education and Training deliver the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care as a Fee-for-service (FFS) or Apprenticeship enrolment.


Employment opportunities:

  • Early Childhood Coordinator or Director
  • Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinator or Director
  • Family Day Care Service Coordinator or Director

Course delivery:

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care; is delivered in a blended format incorporating:

  • Flexible self-paced learning
  • Phone and email support
  • Online tutorials
  • *Industry placement hours are required for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Course duration:

12-18 months


Entry requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, an appropriate level of language literacy and numeracy skills is required. Students may choose to complete the Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care prior to doing the Diploma.


Pathways:

Upon completion of the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, students can continue to study through university to become an Early Childhood or Primary School Teacher. Selected universities offer credit towards these courses, reducing the time to complete the qualification.

Fee-for-service: $4150

  • $400 discount applies to full upfront payment of course fees - total course fees $3750

Funded

Under Higher Level Skills (HLS), the Queensland Government provides a subsidy for the CHC50113 | Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. The program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency. Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate IV level or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.
